Radiator/Fans

The drivetrain work/updates thus far have been solely to make the BRAT run well. It's had a few owners, two engines, and sat for one or two dozen months before I brought her home. To start, I had to fix the overheating problem. Accordingly, I purchased and installed a new thermostat and gasket (under the housing- 2 10mm bolts and it was done)
New upper and lower radiator hoses
Most importantly, a new radiator (old and moldly on top, the new hotness on the bottom)
And finally, a new fan thermoswitch
There is a story behind that switch. The owner two previous to me found the fans stopped working- the thermoswitch was broken (or ugh... possibly unplugged). He hardwired a switch into the cabin so he could turn them on or off as needed. Not too bad a solution I guess. Well, when I went to pick up the BRAT, this switch failed. We hardwired the fans to the battery directly. When I went to leave, I plugged the fans in. When I got where I was going, I unplugged them. This was not ideal. I attempted to fix this awhile back, and wrecked the radiator:
The switch more or less twisted out, with the bung it was attached too. Eeep! One wrecked radiator.
One new radiator and a pile of wires and switches later the fans are working properly and the car runs much cooler, right about where I remember the temperature gauge to be on my old BRAT.
