Hood Scoop Plate Modifications
OK, here you can see that the hood scoop backing plate has been opened. I cut open the plate on the far side of the "hump" to help prevent rainwater from pouring in on the engine, and, in the future, to help protect the intercooler from my future turbo kit installation. I painted it red to match my hood vents and to help keep the cut edges from rusting. Towards the lower edge of the picture, you will see 2 small dark round dots. These are the vaporizer nozzles for the future intercooler spray for the (again, future) turbo kit installation. Please notice that I did not paint over the foam, as this would ruin it's sealing abilities. ![]() Standard Disclaimer: Modification of your car involves risks and may void your warranty.
